It’s National Safety Month! Sponsored by the National Safety Council (NSC), every June we promote safety awareness to prevent unnecessary injuries and deaths at work, on the roads, in our homes and in our communities. Safety is at the core of Kurita America’s culture; we are dedicated to exceeding the requirements of all our stakeholders through upholding a “zero injury” policy and fostering a culture that keeps our employees and customers safe.
Nowhere is it business as usual. We are navigating unchartered waters with COVID-19 making it important to find new ways to work and interact while also taking care of the health and safety of our employees, their families and our customers.
Within our company we have created a series of operational controls that allow us to ensure our priorities of keeping employees safe, maintaining operations for customers, operating productively and enhancing collaboration. Kurita America is leveraging safe practices by implementing different levels of controls, from encouraging working from home to enhancing facility cleaning & security, promoting strict field/social guidelines and protecting employees with needed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
As people begin to re-engage in social activities and states re-open, Kurita America is proactive and cautious in how we work to maintain safety and operations. Kurita America is closely monitoring current developments and carefully following the states reopening plans and directives. We are mindful and diligently maintaining the controls in place to continue to decrease the risk of COVID-19 spread (i.e., using hand sanitizer, wearing gloves and masks, social distancing of 6 feet, etc.).
