Reduce Process Costs and Increase Environmental Safety

Traditional inorganic coagulants in water clarification applications can result in high hauling costs and poor dewatering, but Kurita’s Kurifloc can minimize solids sent to landfills and improve dewatering of sludge. Kurifloc is used primarily as a coagulant and charge neutralization in liquid-solid separation (LSS) processes. It can also be used in industrial and municipal effluents, oily and emulsified wastes, and process water clarification from river and well sources. In some applications, Kurifloc can be used as a standalone flocculant, meeting the requirements of the Association of American Feed Control Officials Incorporated (AAFCO) Section 73: Technical Additives Listing.

Our products are designed to be effective, reliable, and environmentally friendly.

Decrease Process Costs

Reliable and consistent dissolved air flotation (DAF) management can result in a significantly reduced chemical demand. With Kurita’s Kurifloc, decreased operational costs are achievable through improved results and minimized sludge with optimized dewatering.

Improve System Efficiency

Numerous problems may occur when there is an upset in pH, solids loading, and temperature in the wastewater system, but Kurifloc maintains its performance better compared to other coagulants under these conditions. Kurifloc can reduce solids loading going to the final life or lagoon system as well as lessen skimming due to removing more solids.

Increase Environmental Safety

An all-natural, readily biodegradable alternative to aluminum, iron, or synthetically derived coagulants, Kurifloc ensures that any overfeed is non-toxic to wastewater and aquatic life. As a result, regulatory compliance and bioaugmentation with regard to plant effluent can be easier to attain and maintain.

Reduce Waste

Kurifloc 204 is a bio-stocked-derived material, replacing petroleum derived raw materials and potentially reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Made from leftover crab shells, Kurifloc 204 reduces waste and energy through the production process and its byproduct is used as fertilizer, ensuring a true green circular economy and helping customers meet their sustainability initiatives.
